motorcycle helmets
Crash Helmets have one Primary Purpose ... to keep you alive. Your helmet is the most important item you can buy when you are shopping for biker gear. Don’t buy the cheapest but get the best you can afford...you will not regret it. A full face helmet is by far the safest type of helmet as it gives you chin and face protection as well as having a visor for comfort and great visibility. Open face helmets are popular with cruiser type bikes as they are great in the summer months for low speeds with sunglasses or goggles. However, as a biker with over 30 years of riding, speeds of over 60 mph with an open face helmet are a big no no! Ventilation is important if you ride in the winter months, as the vents can reduce misting of your visor considerably. Remember though...they can be noisier. Quality Always buy a helmet that is to British Standards ie BS 6658:1985
